Fullmoon Art Show 07
I had the honor of exhibiting some of my shoes, stickers and stencils at the 'Full Moon Art Show', alongside some amazing and inspiring international and local talents.
BATTLE DEER (from He-man?)
By the power of Grey Skull, it became BATTLE DEER!!!
Actually, it was 4 coats of white, 3 coats of green, 3 coats of red, some whiteout and yellow.

BACK FROM NEW YORK (but still in Vancouver)
I am back...
I had some time off work between my 'George of the Jungle' and my new 'Pucca' contract so i packed my bags and headed to NYC to catch up with my good mate Nam and Ange' and to meet some family for the first time.
Amazingly, my uncle (Mum's oldest brother) escaped from Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge with his wife and 5 children to New York (somewhere between 1975-79); and is now a proud grandfather to 10 first generation american grandchildren. He is the original OG of the family. Respect.

DROPPING NAMES...
Ok, so last week I had the pleasure of checking out a new lifedrawing venue down 17th and Main held at BLIM. Super chill spot, small and tight.
Rocked up with a couple a talented kids from SHERIDAN, KELLY ERWIN and SARAH JARSTORF (Kelly is dangerous when cutting cheese, and Sarah enjoys breaking heads of lettuce).
Then JOHN YOUNG and CLIO CHIANG walked in! After life drawing we all had gelato. That's when John and I shared caricatures, and Clio said (to me), " can you be any more embarassing? Your (bright yellow, florescent, hypercolor, with inbuilt visor) hat is bad enough". I wish I had a witty comeback...

BEN LEE and ME (a true story)
Sydney Australia 2005
As we browsed through the bright yellow aisles we were suprised to here the distorted acoustics and crackle of song through microphone and speaker. Australian alternative/folk musician/singer/song writer and ex-beau of Claire Daines', BEN LEE, was performing a live set right there in the store!
There was a humble gathering around the in-store stage and Mark and I made our way over to enjoy the show. I took this opportunity to do some sketching of the live show. By the end of his performance I was pleased with the sketches I had done and was ready to continue through the store.
Ben had announced that he would be meeting fans and signing autographs to the side. Mark had insisted that I show Ben the drawings I had done. I was reluctant, but somehow gathered the courage to meet and greet him. He seemed genuinly impressed with my drawings and so I offered him one of his choice. I was humbled and he accepted.
I returned to Mark pleased with myself. As I turned back to admire the event that had just taken place, we see Ben flocked by a gathering of girls...and no sooner than 5min later, one of the girls pulls away from the flock squeeling with glee whilst clasping on to the drawing I had just given to BEN!!! Did he just give away my drawing?!
It hurts alittle everytime I think of it...I'm trying to move on. *COUGH COUGHjerkCOUGH*

Spidey and Venom!!!
I started pencilling this at work. I find that it helps relieve the tension that can be built up from holding a wacom all day; to just do some loosey scribbles.
I was chillin at Starbucks after work and decided to clean the sucker up with some lightweight paper I carry knowing that I left my lightbox back in Sydney.
...And this is how it came out after the weekend :)
On a similar note, Pirates 3 was AWESOME! I hope I get some time to do a pirates pin-up!
